Almuñecar Mayor: expresses her condolence on behalf of the residents.
MAYOR of Almuñecar, Trinidad Herrera Lorente, has sent a message to express her most sincere condolences to the families of the Charlie Hebdo magazine.
This terrible attack took place in Paris yesterday, January 7, against the workers of the magazine, where 12 people were killed by Islamist terrorists.
The sad news has affected the towns’ residents deeply, especially the large French community currently living in Almuñecar.
“Pain does not know about frontiers, because we all stand together against this horrible attack, and even though thousands of kilometres separate us, we will hold each other’s hand,” said Ms Herrera.
One of the victims was a resident from Livry-Gargan, a town twinned with Almuñecar since 1981 and whose mayor has been sent a condolence letter showing the most sincere support from all the residents.
