HUERCAL OVERA’S Teatro Villa, in Almeria, is co-hosting an exhibition by FAISEM, the Andalucian foundation for the social integration of people with mental illness.
The exhibition, called El Cante del Ave Fenix (Song of the Phoenix), runs until February 2 and is comprised of 60 pieces of art by 12 artists, all of whom participate in painting workshops around the province.
The Mayor of Huercal Overa, Domingo Fernandez, accompanied by the provincial representative from FAISEM, Amparo Lloret, opened the exhibition.
Fernandez stressed: “There is an importance for different activities to promote social and creative skills as well as a means to convey and express feelings and emotions.”
He went on to encourage residents and visitors to visit the exhibition and enjoy the artistic expression.
