MIJAS pueblo is accepting offers for running the night-service at the local health centre, the council has announced.
Although the Junta de Andalucia regional government is theoretically responsible for providing the service it fails to do so, yet the council considers Mijas residents cannot go without a night-time medical service and will continue to cover the cost of this, Health councillor Mar Rios explained.
An annual budget of €63,000 has been allotted to the service, which will run from 8pm to 8am.
