Gas scammers found guilty

TWO men who masqueraded as gas company workers to charge an innocent victim €230 for unnecessary work have been told to give the money back.

A Malaga Provincial Court has found the pair guilty of fraud and fined them €270 each along with ordering them to give back the cash they demanded from their victim.

The scammers presented themselves at the victim’s home last April claiming to be gas company workers carrying out checks and declared extra ventilation was needed. Now along with paying up they have been ordered by the judge to undo the unnecessary work and return the installation to its original state.
