Town mourns domestic violence victim

CITIZENS and local politicians gathered on Monday, March 30, to honour a woman who died at the hands of her partner in Alhaurin de la Torre.

The 28-year-old and her partner were found dead at their home by a relative, who went to visit them after a worrying telephone conversation with the man earlier in the day.

The home of the couple, parents of a six-year-old girl who was staying with her grandparents, was locked from the inside leading police to believe no third party was involved in the deaths.

A post-mortem report concluded that the 49-year-old man strangled his partner before committing suicide.

The deceased woman had not previously reported any incidents of domestic violence.
