EIGHT people have been arrested accused of committing over 40 robberies from homes and businesses in Alicante Province.
National Police dismantled the gang that allegedly specialised in raiding homes and committing robberies at commercial establishments in the province. Police identified a total of 20 thefts from homes and 22 from businesses that they believed had been committed by the gang.
The organised crime arm of the police launched an investigation in January after detecting a series of burglaries that took place over several months.
Investigations detected members working for the same gang, some carrying out burglaries in homes with others finding and choosing premises to be targeted, studying the victims. Others in the gang were dedicated to committing daily shoplifting, stealing computers, electronic and phone equipment.
