THE Sorrento ship, which caught on fire on April 28 off the coast of Mallorca was towed to the Sagunto Port in Valencia yesterday (Wednesday, May 6).The boat will be docked in Valencia for a period of around two weeks, when staff will proceed to unload the 123 vehicles and other goods that the boat transported and analyse the damage caused by the fire, according to the information released by the Valencian Port Authorities.The boat is carrying a total of 753 kilos of fuel inside, as well as contaminating liquids that will not be extracted at the Sagunto port, which considerably reduces environmental risks.In addition, and according to the same sources, there is no risk of oil discharge at the moment.All 156 passengers were evacuated from the boat, amongst which was a man with minor symptoms of smoke intoxication.
