A WOMAN has been arrested for stealing more than €7,000 worth of jewellery from an 81-year-old woman she was employed to look after.Police began to investigate when a woman informed them that a number of gold items had gone missing from her aunt’s home and she suspected one of her carers had stolen them. After tracking down the missing necklace, watch, brooch and two gold and pearl rings at a shop in Huercal de Almeria that bought and sold gold, investigators found that the woman who had sold them for €1,110 was the daughter of one of the elderly woman’s carers.Upon being arrested, 68-year-old IFP admitted she had stolen the jewellery, worth a total of €7,410, but insisted that her daughter, who she had asked to sell it, had no idea how she had got her hands on it.
