On Saturday 14th June La Cala Lions held their annual Charter Night Gala Dinner at Hotel Tamisa Golf Mijas Costa. Almost 100 guests attended the ball to celebrate the excellent work that the Lions do year upon year to raise funds for their beneficiaries. Anne Bowles gave a speech as all guests took to their tables for dinner, and she thanked her friends and colleagues for the support that she had received during her presidency last year. In the previous year the La Cala Lions have raised nearly €80,000 that went towards children´s charities, positively pink, Malaga orphanage, Feed the hungry, animal charities, and AMUSUVIG women victims of domestic violence, and much more. This year Alan Latter will take over the presidency of the Lions and continue the good work. Alan took to the stage and gave a speech to thank Anne for her successful year and he presented her with a bouquet of flowers. Afterwards all guests enjoyed a three course meal followed by a raffle and entertainment by the Revival Band. Dancing went on until late when eventually some guests retired to their rooms in the hotel. The La Cala Lions are one of the largest organisations that have a strong presence in Spain and the success that they achieve through their motto ¨We Serve¨ is incredible, without Lions it would be a very sad life for the less fortunate. The Euro Weekly News would like to congratulate the La Cala Lions on the incredible funds they have raised over the years, keep up the good work.
