MALAGA drivers are amongst those most likely to fail to learn their lesson after being fined for drinking (or taking drugs) and driving, according to government statistics.Coinciding with the ninth anniversary of introduction of the points licence system on July 1, the Interior Minister reported that Malaga, along with Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and Pontevedra, had registered the most repeat offenders where drink and drugs were concerned.“It’s worrying because there are 17,160 drivers in Spain who have been caught over the limit for alcohol twice in three years and another 1,854 who have been caught three times in three years,” the minister reported.Over the nine-year period, 35.5 million points have been deducted and 203,283 people have lost their licences, yet 73 per cent of drivers still have all their points, the minister said.
