Improvement works in Estepona for the Cycling Tour

ON the occasion of the Cycling Tour of Spain, which will see the departure of its fourth stage in Estepona on August 25, the town has launched a special, comprehensive series of improvement works to beautify the town.

Head of the Socio-cultural Department of the Council, Blas Ruzafa, said that a hundred works will be carried out or have already been performed including painting works, gardening, cleaning, flower ornamentation and repair of pavements and other structures.

“These works will allow us to offer the best side of Estepona while the tour is being broadcast across more than 180 countries,” said the councillor.

Events will be kicked off at 10am in the fairgrounds, while the race is to start at 12pm in Avenida Juan Carlos I.

Apart from the media coverage, Mr Rufaza talked about the positive economic impact that this event will have on the town, as hundreds of people are expected to stay overnight in Estepona hotels.
