ANT & DEC suffered a series of technical hitches during their Saturday night takeaway hit TV show, which was filmed live on a cruise ship in Barcelona over the weekend of April 2.
The cheeky twosome jetted back to London accompanied by their wives on Sunday April 3 following the disastrous filming live from the Mediterranean Sea, which saw the voice-over from James Nesbitt disappear for part of the evening and accusations of miming circulating from opera singer, Katherine Jenkins. Later Nesbitt once again disappeared from his mic-position prompting a social media frenzy debating Nesbitt’s whereabouts.
One viewer wrote: “It wouldn’t be a live outside broadcast on a cruise without at least one blip. James Nesbitt isn’t allowed to go to the loo again!”
Whilst another posted: “James Nesbitt forgot his cue on live TV because he was at bar so the camera was just there showing just the microphone.”
While a third asked: “Has James Nesbitt fallen overboard?”
Katherine Jenkins’ rendition of Barcelona also came under attack forcing the singer to defend herself on Twitter after a viewer accused her of miming.
One angry viewer wrote: “You total fraudster. Miming and not even realistic. People actually pay to see that s***. Disgraceful in every way!!!”
Katherine responded: “Thank you for the compliment – my singing was fully live.”
Peter Andre’s rendition of ‘Mysterious Girl’ also came under fire from the ever-buzzing social media networks, with people accusing the 43-year-old singer of being tone deaf and cheesy.
Despite the chaotic broadcast, ever the professionals, Ant & Dec held it together and did receive praise for their presenting skills.
One Twitter user wrote: “Ant and Dec are two of my favourite humans ever.”
Another gushed: “I love watching Saturday night takeaway! Ant and Dec are brilliant omg.”
