NATIONWIDE CHALLENGE: The country aims to walk 50,000 miles collectively.
WALKERS aimed to help meet a nationwide challenge to cover 50,000 kilometres, and raise €20,000 for Alzheimer’s investigation.
They were applauded along the way yesterday (Wednesday, April 27) by Marbella Mayor Jose Bernal.
For the second year running, an organised walk along San Pedro seafront, arranged by Sarquavitae Foundation in collaboration with the council, saw clients and carers from day centres in Guaro, Marbella and Estepona, do their bit for a good cause and get some exercise at the same time.
Bernal said: “things like this help spread awareness of this complicated condition and raise funds for investigation. “Families, loved ones and associations who care for sufferers carry out vital work, which is also acknowledged with this type of event.”
