Rats the last straw as residents take action

WE SEE YOU: Citizens nabbed almost 50 rats.

RESIDENTS of the San Antonio neighbourhood, the oldest district of Albox, are up in arms over the presence of large rats marauding through local streets, with one cheesed off citizen taking the extreme step of showing up at the town hall with one of the rampaging rodents, having taken it upon himself to perform some unofficial pest control.

The exasperated man and his cousin both constructed do-it-yourself traps in order to ensnare some of the unsuspecting scoundrels, and he managed to take down 17 of them, while his relative hit the jackpot with an impressive 32.

“I called the town council and they told me to bring one down, so that’s what I did,” he said, and although Mayor Cerdan was not in at the time, she didn’t mess about having clapped eyes on the animal.

“We have already treated the area and now we are going to clean,” she asserted, adding: “It seems someone is dumping rubbish, so we’ll have to keep an eye on it and find out who is responsible.”
