Illegal Base-Jumping in Benidorm

FIVE daredevils were filmed base-jumping from skyscrapers during the early hours of the morning in Benidorm on the Costa Blanca.

The illegal jumps occurred just days before the official World Base-jumping Championship is due to begin in the city. The five individuals managed to evade the law, fleeing the scene as soon as their feet touched the ground.

The organisers of the Championship have distanced themselves from the unauthorised jumps.

Some base-jumpers prefer the thrill of illegal jumps to the official event even though it could mean being fined up to €600 for illegally climbing buildings if they are caught.
