Passengers evacuated at London City Airport.
FOLLOWING the news that there appeared to have been a potential bomb at North Greenwich station on Thursday October 20, there was some worry at the nearby London City Airport the following afternoon when fire alarms were sounded and passengers and staff were evacuated to the tarmac where they had to wait amongst the aircraft.
Whilst it is still somewhat unclear what exactly happened, it appears that the problem was a fire and it is known that three fire engines with 15 fire fighters were dispatched to the airport in the late afternoon so it appears that there is no serious problem to contend with although flights have been disrupted.
