SERIOUSLY INJURED: British sprinters James Ellington and Nigel Levine
TWO British sprinters, James Ellington and Nigel Levine, have suffered serious injuries after a motorbike accident in Tenerife.
It is believed the pair were riding a motorcycle that was hit by a car travelling on the wrong side of the road.
In a statement British Athletics confirmed that Ellington and Levine are conscious and stable.
British Athletics medical staff are with the athletes and liaising with hospital staff over their treatment.
Family members of the runners are travelling from the UK to Tenerife tonight.
Sources report that Ellington has suffered broken legs and a suspected broken pelvis, while Levine has a suspected broken pelvis.
