Pipeline repaired after recent storms in Velez-Malaga

VELEZ-MALAGA’S Council has fixed around 100 metres of pipeline damaged by a recent storm, which caused residents in Chilches and Benejarafe to be without water for 10 hours.

Water company Aqualia started work at 7am to repair the affected pipe, restoring water for thousands.

The city’s councillor for Water, Marcelino Mendez-Trelles, visited the site as works were carried out and explained the bill would come to over €200,000, “including about €50,000 for damage to the pipes themselves”.
