An out of service lift at a municipal building
CONCERNS have been expressed by Mijas’ Partido Popular over the failure to renew a lift maintenance contract which affects many council buildings.
They claim the agreements expired six months ago, forcing many municipal buildings to stop using their lifts due to safety concerns.
The PP has criticised the tripartite government for taking too long to renew the contracts, causing a great deal of disruption for council workers and residents.
These concerns could have come about following the death of a young woman in Sevilla when a lift malfunctioned and crushed her.
