A 37-year-old motorcyclist lost his life this morning (Friday), when he lost control of his moped collided with a metal fence that protects the pavement.
The man suffered a severe head injury and went into cardiac arrest.
Ambulance crews worked for 40 minutes to try and resuscitate him but without success.
The accident happened in Calle Alcalá in Madrid.
Emergency services have reported they have attended 24 motorbike accidents in the city in just three days.
