POLICE believe a man found hanging in the hallway of his Llucmajor home suffocated his wife in the German couple’s marital bed before taking his own life. A ‘farewell letter’ is reportedly central to the investigation, with sources claiming it may contain a confession. The bodies of Udo VS, 55, and Stefani Petra RS, 59, were found on Monday night at their home on the Las Palmas urbanisation, after close friends became concerned when they had been unable to contact them for several days. According to reports, when officers gained entry to the house, the bodies were ‘in an advanced state of decomposition’. The husband was ‘hanging in a hallway’ and his wife was lying on the bed ‘with no obvious signs of violence’. But sources claim ‘some indications suggest she was asphyxiated’. Full autopsies are to be carried out while officers try to establish exactly what happened and why.
