A VIDEO was shared via social media showing an emergency helicopter rescuing two individuals who were trapped on the roof of a burning building in Ibiza.
Firefighters rushed to the scene on Monday May 13 after a woman’s cry, which was coming from a squatted building, was heard by one of the neighbours.
Clouds of smoke could be seen from kilometres away as fire swept through an apartment block on Calle Jacinto Aquenza, Ibiza.
One person was reported dead and around 80 people who also lived in the building were evacuated.
Three people were taken to hospital; two of the three are currently in critical condition.
Officials also found the bodies of two dogs in the charred remains of the building.
The blaze was extinguished on Monday afternoon.
The city of Ibiza called for a minute of silence yesterday (Tuesday) for the victim.
