A Spaniard in New York: Spanish cop helps NYPD
PROVING that a policeman is never off duty, a Spaniard in New York jumped in to help a colleague when he was on holiday in the Big Apple.
The National Police agent was strolling through Times Square when he spotted a man assaulting a NYPD officer, who had moments earlier warned the aggressor about his large dog.
It was not on a leash and was apparently bothering pedestrians.
The man got up and, without a word, headbutted the policeman, leaving him stunned.
He was apparently about to assault the officer again when the Spaniard stepped in. Both policemen managed to wrestle the attacker to the ground, but the American officer was still too stunned to handcuff the suspect.
So the Spaniard took over, cuffed the man, searched him for weapons and held him until reinforcements arrived.
