A SHOW themed on Spanish history sound-tracked by a British orchestra has already sold out a month ahead of its premiere in Toledo.
Puy du Fou said its Dream of Toledo show would run from Friday August 30 until the end of October in the Castilla-La Mancha city. The London Symphony Orchestra has recorded the soundtrack for it in Abbey Road studios.
Nicolas de Villiers, president of Puy du Fou, said the creators of the show had consulted Spanish historians to ensure its accuracy.
“We are not historians, we are artists,” he said.
The company had considered putting on a show in Italy or in what was the Austro-Hungarian Empire but they chose Spain for its ‘richness and cultural variety’, the president added.

More than 8,000 people are expected to attend the show during its first weekend. It is due to be staged on the banks of the River Tagus.
The show covers almost 1,500 years of Spanish history from the arrival of the Visigoths to the building of the country’s first railway.
