Community Pulled Rapidly Together As 9 year Old Girl Went Missing In Fuengirola

Sighs of relief tore through Fuengirola  yesterday evening when it was reported on social media that a 9 year old girl called Grace had gone missing in El Coto area.

Over 1,300 concerned people in a short space of time shared the distress post sent out by Jo Royston and 90 sent good wishes in comments.

When a child goes missing of course there is always the worst thoughts that go through everybody’s minds and that was clearly the case on this occasion!

Many people having read the posting deployed to their cars and hit the streets  in search of the missing child but thankfully she was found within a few hours by the Police who had also been alerted.

Huge relief spread through the area that she was found which was demonstrated in follow up comments on the news she was safe and well.

Fenella Solaman broke the news on Facebook that she had been found and whilst some readers were a little suspicious fearing it wasn’t correct it was confirmed shortly afterwards.

Sonia Clever posted “Oh my goodness praise the lord”,  meanwhile Kay Thompson replied how she was so impressed how everyone quickly pulled together posting “I just read that she was safe, and quickly sent another message to let them know before they posted it. So very glad it is a happy ending. But it is also heart warming to see how quickly the message was spread by so many concerned strangers. xx”

When the alarm went out all Euro Weekly News team were put on alert by a WhatsApp group message to assist where possible that saw a fast call to action but thankfully everyone could stand down as the young child was found.

Thankfully fear turned to relief  in the local concerned community.
