OVER the past week, the Spanish Red Cross in Velez-Malaga have been taking part in an initiative to collect school supplies for the children in the region.
Entitled ‘Back to School Solidarity 2019/20’, volunteers from the Red Cross collected school supplies such as erasers, pencil sharpeners, rulers, notebooks, coloured pencils, pens, scissors and backpacks thanks to generous donation from the local public.
In total, 153 separate donations have been received from Velez Malaga and the surrounding municipalities of El Borge, Iznate, Periana, Torrox and La Viñuela.
The Red Cross would like to thank everyone involved in the scheme designed to help provide essential educational tools for the most vulnerable children.
