GUSTS: Strong winds expected
PARTS of the Costa del Sol are being put on a yellow weather warning alert with strong winds and large waves predicted for Thursday.
The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) is predicting winds gusting up to 80 kph in the Serrania de Ronda mountains that lead inland from Marbella to Ronda. At the moment the alert covers this area only, but it may be extended to other parts of the Costa del Sol, the agency warns.
At the same time people are being warned of waves of between two and three metres along the Malaga coastline.
Aemet is not expecting the strong winds to be accompanied by heavy rain, although a drop in temperatures to maximums of 17 degrees and lows of 13 degrees Celsius are expected on the coast.
