A MAN has died after being stabbed in the neck during a fight in the port of Estepona on the Costa del Sol, Spain.
As reported by the National Police, the incident occurred around 3.30am this morning (November 24), after a heated argument broke out between two men at a nightclub in the town. After both men left the premises, the dispute continued onto the street, where one of the men reportedly retrieved a knife from his pocket, stabbing the 21-year-old victim in the neck.
The emergency services rushed to the scene, finding a young man in distress at a roundabout located at the entrance of the port. Paramedics treated the man, however despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The assailant fled from the port after the attack, but was arrested a short time later by Local Police after a security guard provided key information about the suspect. Upon a body search by officers, a knife was found.
Police have revealed that the victim, originally from Maghreb, is a resident of Manilva and the 22-year-old aggressor, of Brazilian nationally, is also from the same municipality.
We at Euro Weekly News understand that an investigation has been launched by police to clarify the circumstances of the deadly assault.
