IT’S no secret that Mallorca’s culinary scene is positively thriving and it can be a challenge to know exactly where to start. However, things may be get a little easier, with a restaurant in Calvià, Mallorca, being recognised as having the best cheeseburger in Spain. Los Platos de Soto have been awarded at the Spanish Hamburger Championship for their delectable ‘Cachopoburger’. A perfect mix between an Asturian cachopo and a traditional burger, the eatery serves up two large beef steaks stuffed with cheese and serrano ham which is then covered in breadcrumbs and fried. When presented with the prize, César García, co-owner of Los Platos de Soto said: “We are all Asturian at the restaurant and specialise in cachopos, so we came up with the idea of incorporating it into a hamburger.” https://www.facebook.com/LosPlatosdSoto/videos/2398057600458438/ The best traditional hamburgers across the country will now battle it out at the final in Madrid this Thursday (December 4) and will see Fan Burger in Ibiza represent the Balearic Islands for the Spanish title.
