Axarquia News: Family fun in Aguilas

THE CARRERA Popular de Navidad starts at 10 AM in Aguilas on Sunday 22 December. The annual Christmas running race covers 5200 metres of an urban route along the seafront, up towards the castle and then back down to the port.
The event includes categories for all ages with distances ranging from 200 to 1200 metres. Infants and young children can be paid for on the day at a cost of two euros when collecting runners participating numbers and all other ages can register on the website www.asuspuestos.com for five euros.
Various prizes have been donated by local businesses and all participants will receive a goodie bag with commemorative gifts and trophies for the winners of each category.
A Christmas basket will be awarded to the first classified of both the male and female classes and there will be a prize draw of a ham among everyone who finishes the race.
All schools and HEIs with at least 20 participants have the chance to win prizes consisting of sports equipment worth €100.
