Surrounded by armed police the negociator offers the man a blanket - he refuses
Four hours after it started and the suicidal knifeman is still on the beach in Fuengirola surrounded by armed police. A police negotiator calmly tries to offer him a blanket but he waves the 12″ knife at him. The other officers jump back quickly but then stay their ground, a few metres away.
The middle aged well built man wearing black wet suit bottoms is on his knees now and constantly turning around to see how close the police rescue launch is. He is tired and cold , he burts into rants every few minutes, holding the knife to his neck and threatens to slit his own throat.
The police start to check their weapons, there about six armed officers waiting behind the parked police response vehicle, trying to keep far away as possible but close enough to dash in should the worst happen. Maybe they will Taser him, but not while he is in the water, at least then no one will be badly hurt or worst still killed
He suddenly screams at the police and then an officer pulls out his radio and the launch moves away, surely it will end very soon.
