ELEVEN of Benidorm’s bus lines are making a detour along the Costa Blanca resort’s Levante seafront while remodelling Avenida del Mediterraneo continues. This will affect Lines 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 14, 16, 18 and 30. Busses will need to be rerouted for approximately a month owing to the closure of Avenida Periodista Emilio Romero, the town hall explained. Two temporary bus stops will be installed at Avenida de Bilbao and at the bottom of Avenida de Europa. Buses travelling from the Rincon de Loix will use Avenida del Mediterraneoas far as Calle Bilbao before turning onto the Levante promenade as far as Avenida de Europa. As traffic is usually barred from the promenade, apart from vehicles belonging to residents in seafront apartment blocks, bus-drivers have been instructed to reduce their usual speed considerably.
