POLICIA Nacional officers took part in the rescue of a 47-year-old woman in Torremolinos last Saturday who was trying to end her life by throwing herself from a balcony of a height Several calls came in reporting that a woman was trying to throw herself from a house prompting police to rush to the scene. When they arrived the woman was up with her feet on the terrace railing, holding on with difficulty due to the strong gusts of wind.
One of the officers was able to gain the trust of the woman and after chatting for thirty minutes, managed to distract her attention enabling a firefighter to sneak up on the victim and grab hold of her arm pulling her in as she was about to jump.
The victim was then taken in good health to the hospital to be assessed.
