Early morning dawn raids carried out by specialist police teams in Barcelona have resulted in the capture of two suspected terrorists.
The Mossos d’Esquadra successfully detained the two main objectives of the Barcelona anti-terrorist operation carried out at 6:0 am this morning- specifically in the Barceloneta neighbourhood.
Two men of Algerian nationality were arrested in the raid and are currently being held in a secret location where they will be questioned. A spokesman for the police said not to rule out further arrests as it is an on-going investigation.
The Catalan police have explained that the operation was led by the General Information Police Station (CGI) and is supervised by the Investigating Court number 6 of the National Court.
