An 81-year-old man has died and a six-year-old girl has been injured in two separate dog attacks in Seville on Monday.
At approximately 4:40 PM the Guardia Civil responded to an emergency call about an injured elderly man in Villaverde del Rio, an urbanisation about 30km north of the city in Seville province. Emergency services dispatched a helicopter and found the man in a plot of land in the La Doncella area. He was reported dead on the scene, having received injuries to the head, face and arms from several dogs. It is understood the dogs had been kept in the plot, where the owner has been found.
On the same day, at 3:40 PM, a six-year-old girl was reportedly attacked by a pitbull in Plaza Juan Duran Ferrete in the north of Seville. She was transferred to Virgen Macarena hospital with wounds to the face and neck.
