Man Fined Thousands After Repeatedly Breaching Quarantine

A MAN has been fined thousands after repeatedly breaching quarantine rules after he returns from a Spanish holiday with his family.

Fines of £7,000 are now owed as the man has breached quarantine 3 times in only a fortnight. On returning from Spain, a fourteen-day isolation period should have been followed, but the man sent his children into school. The family were contacted by the school, but the family claimed not to have left the country. The claims were found to be false after border force checks were made and the police then became involved.

Rochdale Council took to Facebook and in a post entitled ‘Ouch’ and said, “Last week we shared a story of a man who got two fines for leaving the house when he should’ve been self-isolating.

“Despite the two fines, he couldn’t resist leaving the house again and got a third fine. Over two weeks of self-isolation he received £7,000 worth of fines.”

There have been issues with people not paying fines received for breaching the rules surrounding the ongoing Coronavirus crisis. To resolve the issue, plans are being made to create a special Court to ensure fines are paid.
