Discussing future strategy Credit: Cancer Support Mallorca

2020 WAS a very difficult year for Cancer Support Mallorca as they had to suspend the majority of their group activities and fund-raising opportunities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This didn’t mean however that they didn’t continue to try to care for those in need of assistance and where possible, they moved online and attracted a number of new volunteers.
Having gained Covid-19 Charity status, it meant that, where needed, they were also able to help patients with deliveries of food, medicine, personal protection equipment, lifts to hospital appointments etc.
In addition, for those who had difficulty in communication, volunteers were able to communicate with local doctors and other organisation to arrange appointments and generally assist patients.
Working with other island charities the Cancer Support Group was able to do its bit to help local communities where needed.
This determination to be of service will continue in 2021 regardless of the problems that arise and already one supporter, Sean Judkins, is taking on a two-day challenge, The Mallorca Odyssey, where he will be running, cycling, and kayaking around the island in April to raise funds.
They are always in need of volunteers, collaborators and sponsors so to find out more visit their Facebook page, https://www.cancersupportmallorca.com/ or call 659 887 455.
