Estepona City Council has confirmed it has awarded the works for the comprehensive remodelling of the section of the promenade that runs from La Cala – in front of the San Jose school – to the Jacaranda building

These works will culminate in the last phase of the renovation of the promenade which comprises two linear kilometres.

At the moment, the second phase of Espana Avenue is being pedestrianized, which also includes the remodelling of the section of the promenade between Juan Carlos Avenue and Delfín Street.

In addition, the works of the socio-cultural facility ‘Mirador del Carmen’, which is being carried out next to the Punta Doncella lighthouse, will also involve the fine-tuning of the existing promenade.

The Consistory has already completed the remodelling of the first section of the promenade, specifically, the one that is located from Juan Carlos I Avenue to Andalucia Avenue.

The objective of the City Council is to continue with the remodelling of the rest of the sections until achieving the total connection of the promenade and its union with the coastal corridor.

It has already been possible to connect more than 90 per cent of the Estepona coast which means more than 20 kilometres linked by pedestrian paths that enable tourist and leisure use of these spaces by the sea.
