British Army Apache helicopters have turned the chill of Finland’s forests into a fiery furnace, unleashing live fire in a dramatic display of NATO muscle during Exercise Mighty Arrow 25 – and they weren’t holding back.

With the roar of rotor blades and the rattle of chain guns, the Army’s elite 3 Regiment Army Air Corps took to the skies in AH-64E Apache Guardians, dishing out a devastating display of firepower as part of NATO’s latest war game in Northern Europe.

“Train together, fight together, win together,” the regiment posted on social media – and win they certainly did, at least in the PR battle for fire and fury.

The drills, staged as part of Operation Razoredge, are designed to tighten NATO’s grip on collective defence – especially on its vulnerable eastern flank. With Russian sabre-rattling still echoing across the Baltic, this was a loud and lethal reminder that Britain and her allies aren’t just watching – they’re locked, loaded, and ready.

Hot lead and cold forests: Mighty Arrow 25 hits the target

Finland’s own Panssariprikaati (Armoured Brigade) confirmed the action was in “full action mode” as British and Finnish troops joined forces in the woods for a no-nonsense show of allied firepower. Tanks rumbled, choppers hovered, and NATO’s message to potential adversaries was clear: poke the lion, and the eagle might bite.

This wasn’t just a show-and-tell – it was a well-oiled machine. Apache helicopters flew in perfect synchrony with Finnish armour, blasting through targets and showcasing the kind of integration that gives NATO its teeth.
