Starting June 26, 2025, the Casa de Las Tejerinas in Estepona’s Plaza de las Flores will open the “El Rincón de Camille” art and sculpture exhibition by artist Francisco Javier Antolín.

Inspired by the work of French sculptor Camille Claudel, muse of Auguste Rodin, the exhibition will run until July 9. Admission is free, with visiting hours from Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 8pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm, according to a press release from Estepona council.

Born in Madrid in 1971 and currently residing in Algeciras, Antolín is a sculptor, painter, and draughtsman with a Fine Arts degree specialising in sculpture from the University of Salamanca. His training includes an Erasmus scholarship at the Toulouse School of Fine Arts in France. With over 30 years of artistic and teaching experience, Antolín has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions and various art projects.

A recent highlight of his career includes a sculpture exhibition at the 12th edition of “Caprichos” at Málaga’s La Concepción Botanical Garden. In 2024, he presented “Los Sueños de Nefertiti”, an exhibition inspired by the ancient Egyptian queen, at the same Casa de Las Tejerinas venue. Over the years, his work has primarily focused on painting, though often incorporating sculptural elements in both solo and collective shows.

The “El Rincón de Camille” exhibition will be an eye-opening show of Antolín’s versatile talent, taking his inspiration from Claudel’s emotive and groundbreaking sculptures. Casa de Las Tejerinas is in the Plaza de la Flores in central Estepona.
