Spain’s political battlefield exploded this week as opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo accused Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of benefitting from profits tied to prostitution.
During a searing exchange in Congress on Wednesday, July 9, Feijóo referenced Sánchez’s father-in-law’s past business dealings running sauna brothels, claiming the prime minister “lived in an apartment paid for with money from prostitution.”
Sánchez’s father-in-law ran prostitution saunas
Sabiniano Gómez, father of Sánchez’s wife Begoña Gómez, previously ran gay-oriented sauna businesses in Madrid with his brothers, including Sala Adán and Sauna Azul, known for their sexual activity. Though he formally left these businesses in 2006, OK Diario reports that he may have continued managing them unofficially.
One such business-funded purchase allegedly includes the €700,000 family home in Pozuelo de Alarcón where Sánchez and Gómez lived before moving to La Moncloa. The luxury residence, which features a pool, gardens, and 24-hour security, was bought by Sabiniano Gómez and later transferred to his daughter.
Feijóo unleashes personal attack on Sánchez
Feijóo unleashed a barrage of accusations from the podium, addressing Sánchez directly:
“Who are you living with? What brothels have you been living in? You are a lucrative participant in the abominable business of prostitution,” Feijóo declared (as reported by El Español).
Sánchez retaliated by listing past corruption scandals in the Popular Party (PP), suggesting Feijóo has built his career by “covering up irregular financing” in the Galician PP.
He further accused Feijóo of trying to grant “self-amnesty” to Ayuso’s boyfriend through a proposed tax error reform. Sánchez also revived old controversies, including Feijóo’s alleged ties to a known Galician drug trafficker:
“Of all of us here, the only one who has maintained a close relationship with a convicted criminal is you,” Sánchez said.
OK Diario reports that Sánchez’s wife, Begoña Gómez, purchased a holiday apartment in Mojácar (Almería) in 2013 from San Bernardo 36 SL, a company owned by her father’s family that ran sauna-brothel businesses. The deal took place before Sánchez became PSOE leader, according to the Property Registry.
The 73m² flat includes three bedrooms, a terrace, and access to a rooftop pool, gym, jacuzzi, and sauna. It’s located just five minutes from the beach and has a current estimated value of €200,000.
At the time of purchase, the sole director of the company was Francisco Enrique Gómez Serrano, uncle of Begoña Gómez. He was replaced by Ángel Prieto Paz shortly after the transaction in April 2013. Begoña acquired the property as her own under a separate property regime, as noted in the official deed.
With general elections looming in 2027, both camps have made it clear: nothing is off the table. With personal lives now fully weaponised, Spanish politics appears to be entering an unprecedented era of character assassinations and moral showdowns.

11 July 2025 • 12:45Lets be honest, Sanchez has a lot of things on his mind lately, serious corruption with his government and possibly his own family. He is a WEF stooge and in all honesty does little for the people of Spain. But he is pushing the WEF socialist policies so obviously he is being well rewarded and well protected by the WEF and their political party the EU. So no amount of criticism will make any difference to this corrupt government or to the Spanish people.
