THOSE looking for a getaway from work, a trip to get to know a new area of Spain, or simply to indulge in their wanderlust are in luck: popular high-speed train operator Ouigo has launched a new campaign, with tickets available for just €9 per journey to travel between August and December 2026. This means those who have purchased through the Ouigo app or through the website can take a busy summer holiday, get to know a charming inland town during autumn, or even take a cosy winter trip for under €10 per ticket.

Tickets for travel between summer and winter 2026

The deal applies for all tickets bought for dates between August 3 and December 12, 2026. The purchases can be made either through the Ouigo app or through the website from Thursday, March 5.

In addition, if you are travelling with children, Ouigo maintains a fixed fare of €7 for children aged 4 to 13 and free for children up to 3 years old, as long as they can travel in the arms of an adult.

In total, Ouigo operates journeys to 15 destinations: Madrid (Puerta de Atocha and Chamartín stations), Barcelona, Valencia, Tarragona, Zaragoza, Albacete, Alicante, Cuenca, Murcia, Elche, Valladolid, Segovia, Sevilla, Malaga, and Cordoba.

Here are some tips for securing the most affordable tickets Ouigo has to offer:

  • Purchase sooner rather than later. The earlier the purchase, the better the price.
  • Search with flexible dates, as a day earlier or later could significantly impact the price.
  • Those travelling on a budget can avoid paying for extra services.
  • Download the Ouigo app and compare prices. It may also increase your chances of getting tickets.

Spain also has other high-speed operators that could offer better prices than Ouigo at any given moment.

To travel cheaply by train and secure the best price, many passengers:

  • Compare operators and schedules.
  • Buy in advance and check during weekdays, as prices tend to increase during weekends.
  • Compare fares and what they include.

For summer 2026, many train operators will be preparing deals. The Verano Joven deal, for example, will allow anyone from the ages of 18 and 30 to purchase tickets on participating public transport services, including high-speed trains like AVE, Avlo, Iryo and Ouigo, with major discounts applied.
