Jazz heads across the Costa del Sol have something special to look forward to at the weekend with a rare evening of live music and cocktails. Beltrán Quartet headlines the popular Jameson Jazz Night at Speakeasy Jazz Club & Cocktails in Fuengirola on Saturday, March 21.
Intimate Speakeasy setting promises prohibition-era feel
Hidden in the heart of Fuengirola, the Speakeasy recreates the glamour and mystery of 1920s American speakeasies. Patrons step into a stylish venue where low lighting, plush seating, and expert mixologists set the perfect mood for sophisticated nights out. If you’re looking for a beer, you can forget it, as this is all about cocktails. Free entry adds extra appeal for visitors seeking quality entertainment without high cover charges.
Beltrán Quartet delivers dynamic straight-ahead jazz
Led by Antonio Beltrán on saxophone, the quartet features exceptional talent: Sergio Diaz on drums, Juanlu Garcia on piano, and Pit Verbist on double bass. Their performance is a combination of masterful improvisation with tight ensemble interplay, delivering classic and contemporary jazz standards. Audiences will witness passionate solos, swinging rhythms, and heartfelt melodies that capture all the essence of live jazz.
Antonio Beltran, a tenor saxophonist praised for his “impeccable musicianship”, flies in from Chicago, where he has been active as a performer, composer, educator, and clinician. He holds advanced music degrees and is also a celebrated Zildjian artist.
Jameson’s the sponsor of the evening, as it is so close to St Patrick’s Day, meaning prices of the creamy whisky are on special for the night.
Apart from the music and drinks, a talented caricature artist captures the evening’s energy. Attendees pose for fun, personalised sketches that serve as unique souvenirs from this special night. The combination of jazz, cocktails, and artistic flair makes the event ideal for couples, groups of friends, or solo visitors looking for something different on the Costa del Sol.
Practical details for an easy night out
Doors open in good time for the 11pm start, with Speakeasy easy enough to find on Paseo de las Rampas, in central Fuengirola.
