Hotel Restaurante Terraza Carmona in Vera, Almería, has received the Bib Gourmand 2026 distinction from the Michelin Guide for the 22nd time. It remains the only restaurant in the province included in this year’s selection, strengthening its long-running position within Spain’s Michelin Guide listings. The Bib Gourmand category recognises restaurants chosen by Michelin inspectors for cooking of quality at moderate prices, aimed at regular dining rather than special occasions.
Award presented at Madrid Fusión 2026
The Bib Gourmand plaque and jacket were handed over at the Bib Gourmand Gala held during Madrid Fusión 2026. The presentation was made by representatives of Mahou San Miguel, partner of the Michelin Guide. Both items are now displayed at the restaurant in Vera following the ceremony.
The team at Terraza Carmona shared their reaction on social media, stating:
“We received the Bib Gourmand 2026 plaque and jacket with great excitement.”
The restaurant also expressed thanks after receiving the distinction, saying:
“Thank you so much to everyone! We will display it with pride at Restaurante Terraza Carmona, where we continue working every day with great passion to offer the very best.”
Bib Gourmand meaning and Michelin selection
The Bib Gourmand classification is given by Michelin inspectors to restaurants identified for consistent cooking standards combined with controlled pricing. It is aimed at places chosen for regular dining, based on inspector evaluations. The 2026 edition for Spain and Andorra includes 204 restaurants, with 29 new entries added this year.
Within this national selection, Terraza Carmona continues to stand out for its repeated inclusion over more than two decades. Its presence in the guide reflects ongoing assessment by Michelin inspectors and sustained recognition within the Bib Gourmand category. With 22 Bib Gourmand distinctions recorded, Terraza Carmona remains one of the most consistently recognised restaurants in Almería within the Michelin Guide system.
