On a day dedicated to all things canine and community, AA Dog Rescue raised over €1,000 to support their mission of rescuing and rehoming dogs across Spain and the UK.
Record turnout for annual charity dog Show
The annual dog show and craft fayre has been a beloved tradition for years. However, the massive turnout of both humans and dogs alike made this the most successful edition yet.
Families, friends and four-legged companions filled the Arboleas community centre, creating an energetic atmosphere. While the sun didn’t make an appearance, the rain thankfully held off, allowing everyone in attendance to enjoy a delightful and blissfully dry day.
Fun-filled dog show steals the spotlight
By far the highlight of the event was the dog show itself. Dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds competed in a light-hearted contest, battling it out for first place in categories like “best smile” and “waggiest dog”.
Long-time supporters, Sharon and Steve Garner of Sun, Sea and Selling Houses fame were tasked with the difficult job of judging the contest. Conditions weren’t quite as strict as a Crufts competition, but the sheer amount of cuteness on display made choosing a winner tricky.
Much to their appreciation, each dog received a treat to reward their participation in the contest. Meanwhile, the winning pups were awarded trophies and traditional rosettes, a special keepsake for pet and proud owner.
Puppies available for adoption delight visitors
A great day was made even better by the presence of AA’s youngest members. The puppies brought a smile to everyone’s face, serving as perfect cuddle buddies and playmates who are still up for adoption.
Supporting local vendors at the craft fayre
In addition to supporting AA Dog Rescue, the event spotlighted local vendors. Inside the community centre, artisanal stalls were set up, offering hand-made goods from unique knick-knacks to one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces. In between cheering on the dogs, locals perused the stalls at their own leisure.
Charity event raises €1,785 for dog rescue efforts
In total, AA Dog Rescue raised an incredible €1,785. This accomplishment was made possible by everyone who donated their time, support and money. The funds will make a huge difference in helping the charity continue to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs.
