San Miguel de Salinas launches fiesta photography and video competition with cash prizes

San Miguel de Salinas is preparing a photography and video competition inviting residents and visitors to capture their favourite moments from the town’s 2026 fiestas.

The competition will cover everything from processions, fireworks and floats to concerts, children’s activities, the traditional neighbourhood dinner and other cultural and food events, with cash prizes available across three different sections.

Anyone planning to attend the San Miguel de Salinas fiestas can start taking photographs and recording footage for the competition while the celebrations are under way.

Organisers are looking for images and videos that reflect the variety of events taking place during the fiestas, providing plenty of opportunities for entrants to find their subject.

Processions, fireworks and colourful floats could all feature, alongside concerts, children’s activities and the traditional neighbourhood dinner.

Food and cultural events are also included, allowing entrants to concentrate on whichever part of the celebrations best captures the atmosphere of the San Miguel fiestas.

Although residents and visitors can begin collecting their photographs and footage now, entries cannot yet be submitted.

Cash prizes of up to €300 are available across three competition categories

The competition will be divided into three sections, with different cash prizes available in each.

For videos summarising the fiestas, first prize will be €300, followed by €250 for second place and €200 for third.

The photography competition offers €200 to the winner, €100 for second place and €50 for third.

A separate Moment of the Fiesta category will focus on short videos capturing a particular event or memorable moment rather than providing an overview of the entire celebration.

Four prizes of €100 will be awarded in this category, giving entrants another opportunity to have their work recognised.

San Miguel de Salinas Tourism Department has stressed that the competition is still being prepared and that the official entry period has not yet opened.

Full rules will be published shortly, together with the deadline and instructions explaining how photographs and videos should be submitted.

Anyone hoping to enter should therefore keep their original photographs and recordings while waiting for the formal submission process to begin.

Updates about the competition will be announced through San Miguel de Salinas Town Hall’s official channels, as well as the Turismo San Miguel de Salinas Facebook and Instagram pages.
