Maria and the Pink Ladies have added another €425 to their breast cancer campaign following a fundraising afternoon in Playa Flamenca. The October 11 event at the Sports Bar formed part of the group’s activities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, while the charity is also appealing for new volunteers to help with fundraising, awareness and its work within the local community.
Playa Flamenca fundraiser brings in €425
Maria and the Pink Ladies have raised €425 for their breast cancer campaign following a fundraising afternoon on October 11 at the Sports Bar in Playa Flamenca.
The event formed part of the group’s activities throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, remembering those who have survived the disease, supporting people currently undergoing treatment and remembering those who have lost their lives.
Organisers thanked Alli and the Sports Bar team for supporting the event, along with the entertainers who helped make the afternoon a success.
Donations and contributions from those attending brought the final amount raised to €425.
Campaign supports early detection and awareness
Maria and the Pink Ladies campaign throughout the year to raise funds for early detection testing while also increasing awareness of breast cancer within the local community.
The Playa Flamenca event provided another opportunity for residents to support that work while coming together during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Fundraising events throughout the year help the group continue promoting the importance of awareness and early detection across the Costa Blanca community.
Pink Ladies appeal for more volunteers
The group is currently looking for more volunteers to help with its work.
Opportunities include assisting at fundraising events, walks and coffee mornings, raising awareness, offering practical support and helping behind the scenes with administration, social media and organising activities.
Volunteers do not need specialist experience and can contribute whatever time they have available.
