Residents and visitors in Los Alcazares will have the chance to show their support for people affected by cancer at a community march on Sunday, October 25. The event, called Los Alcazares en Marcha contra el Cáncer, or Los Alcazares on the March Against cancer, will begin at 10:00am from Paseo Carrion, next to the SAZA monument.
Los Alcazares march raises cancer awareness: A community united to support patients and their families
Organised by Los Alcazares Town Hall and the Spanish Association Against Cancer, or AECC, the march aims to raise awareness and show solidarity with patients, survivors and their families.
How and when to register: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and the day of the race
Those wishing to take part can still register in person and collect their race numbers at the town hall on selected dates before the event. Registration will be available on Tuesday, October 20, and Thursday, October 22, from 10:00am to 12:30pm and again from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. On Friday, October 23, the hours will be 10:00am to noon and again from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Participants will also be able to sign up and collect their numbers on the day of the march at the starting point, between 9:00am and 10:00am on Sunday, October 25. The event is being organised in collaboration with Caja Rural and water services company Aqualia, bringing together local institutions and organisations behind a shared cause.
Prevention, detection, research, and support for those affected by cancer
Cancer awareness campaigns highlight the importance of prevention, early detection and continued research, while offering support to those affected by the disease. Community events like this march also provide an opportunity for people to come together and demonstrate that patients and their loved ones are not alone.
Los Alcazares unites against this disease
With registration still open, the organisers are encouraging the community to participate and help make the event a show of collective support. Whether walking alongside friends and family or joining fellow residents, participants can contribute to raising awareness of cancer and supporting the work of the AECC. Every step counts, and on Sunday, October 25, the march offers Los Alcazares residents an opportunity to turn that message into action, sport into solidarity, and a march into a community.
