Canary Islands

The Canary Islands, also known as the Canaries, are an autonomous community in the Atlantic ocean, comprising the Spanish provinces of Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.  Formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago, since the 1960s tourists have flocked to the Canary Islands in large numbers, attracted by the rich culture and the plethora of stunning sand beaches. The Euro Weekly News is the longest running news source in the Canary Islands, covering Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and Ferro.
