IT was a grand day for charity, with the winner local lad Tomas Leighton, 7, who has cerebral palsy and three other disabilities.
Thanks to the generosity of clients and the general public, €2,063 has been raised so far towards a home adaptation to make his life a little easier.
Of this €816 was raised when an EWN team made some noise going around parts of La Cala de Mijas, Elviria and Puerto Banus.
The vast majority of the public were happy to offer a contribution, including a Spanish man on the dole who was moved to give whatever change he had in his pocket.
EWN would like to especially thank all who made the day possible, including Steve and Sarah Lowther from Mobility Wizard who provided a mobility scooter for a member of staff free of charge.
Two business owners, Ian Wickham from Solutions Marbella and Keith Clarke from World of Furniture in Mijas – made a donation of €100 each.
Cravings Deli, Wash Wizard, Viva Estates, Deseos Florist, Fashion Banus and Fabio España were also amongst the companies that donated funds.
Earlier donations by VIP Cars and Spectrum FM of €600 and €500 respectively provided a much appreciated kick-start.
